GREAT COMMISSION DAY
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2010

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."  Matthew 28:18-20

Great Commission Day is our annual day to worship together and then work side by side in mission and ministry, serving others as Jesus did. 

Our schedule for the day is as follows:
9:30am - Combined adult Sunday School in sanctuary (Preschool - Youth meet in regular classrooms)
10:30am - Combined worship service (Dr. Rick Dye, speaker)
12:00noon - Sandwich luncheon
1:00-5:00pm - break off into various miision teams
5:00pm - Dinner
Following dinner - Closing worship, time of reflection

  It's never too late to decide where to become involved on GCD, either ~ extra hands and feet are always needed!  Please plan to join us for the day ~ you're guaranteed to receive a blessing!

   JOIN US AS WE "GROW " EVERY WEDNESDAY!  

GROW(Get Renewed on Wednesdays) starts with a simple meal at 5:00p.m., followed by various classes and Bible studies for preschoolers through adults at 6:00p.m.

SOUND BOARD VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!

HELPING HANDS FOOD PANTRY 

Our food pantry is open from 4-6pm every Tuesday to those in need in Marshall County.  Please continue to remember them with your prayers and with monetary and food donations.  There are shopping carts at the east entrances to the sanctuary and fellowship hall, as well as in the hallway by the new pantry for you to leave your food donations.  Gardeners, any extra produce that you have we will gladly accept.  Please bring your produce to the pantry before 4:00 on Tuesdays.  Any help you can offer is truly appreciated.  For more information, contact Valera Brooks or the church office at 527-3990.


K.I.T. (Kids In Training)
 AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
 

T
his program is being offered here at Benton First UMC to K-5th grade students from Benton and South Elementary Schools. The “KIT” program is staffed with teachers who help students with daily homework and enrichment activities.  “KIT” kids receive a daily snack and participate in indoor and outdoor play time and activities.  Financial assistance is available.  

"KIT" is currently looking for fill-in substitutes on an as-needed basis.  Please contact Juli Watkins via the church office @ 527-3990 for more details.
